ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s School The Crown is built in extensive grounds offering world-class educational and sporting facilities, enabling students to pursue a diverse range of interests. Our purpose-Built Campus of over 40,000m2 located in the heart of Cairo's most prestigious gated community, The Crown, 6th October City. The school caters to students from 18 months up to 18 years with state-of-the-art facilities, including: a full football field, 400m athletic track , 25m 8 lane covered swimming pool with learner pool, indoor multi-purpose sports hall, outdoor multipurpose courts and a 522 seat Performing Arts theatre.

We are seeking an outstanding, committed and energetic Director of Sport to join King’s School The Crown to start in August, 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide leadership in teaching and learning within the PE and Sports subject areas.
Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning in physical education and sports, monitoring students’ progress towards meeting agreed targets across the school.
Drive the mission and aims of the PE and Sports provision in line with the school’s vision and the departmental development plan.
Work with the founding Executive Head to plan and facilitate the school’s sports events and competitions as per the agreed school events calendar.
Lead on developing, implementing and monitoring of all policies regarding, assisting in producing or preparing necessary curriculum/reporting documentation where required by the school leadership.
Oversee the development of the sports programme and ensure a wide range of sports are provided and accessible to all pupils.
Ensure resources are managed appropriately within indoor and outdoor sports facilities and all sports spaces.
Model an excellent professional standard in teaching the subject of expertise at all times.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Proven experience in the same position.
Confidence with use of ICT in teaching.
Fluency in English at an academic standard.
Experience teaching Key Stage 2 to 3 age children in the UK curriculum framework.
Knowledge and understanding of theory and practice for meeting the learning needs of the students.
Experience in delivering the UK Primary & Secondary curriculum and framework.
Strong pedagogical knowledge and understanding of PE and Sports teaching.
Ability to teach GCSE and/or O level will be an advantage.
