ROLE SUMMARY:

Sotogrande International School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Visual Arts Teacher to join our dynamic team. We are looking for an educator who can inspire creativity, foster artistic expression, and engage students in developing their technical and conceptual art skills. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality Visual Arts education, encouraging students to explore various artistic mediums, and preparing them for future academic and professional opportunities in the arts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Visual Arts lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skills.

  • Teach Visual Arts across different educational levels, ensuring students meet their potential.

  • Develop and implement lesson plans, resources, and assessment strategies.

  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including practical, theoretical, and digital techniques.

  • Encourage students to explore different artistic media and concepts.

  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

  • Support students in preparing portfolios for university applications and art-related careers.

  • Participate in extracurricular activities, exhibitions, and school events.

  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school initiatives.

  • Engage in professional development to enhance teaching practices.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts or a related field.

  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

  • Experience teaching Visual Arts at various levels.

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

  • Passion for art education and fostering student creativity.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in an international or multicultural school.

  • Familiarity with IB or inquiry-based learning approaches.

  • Ability to integrate digital tools into art education.
