ROLE SUMMARY:

Sotogrande International School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Public Speaking and Debate Teacher to assume this role for our Summer Camps in Sotogrande. The Public Speaking and Debate Teacher delivers a two-week program focusing on public speaking, debate, and critical thinking for students aged 10+. The role involves creating engaging lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and supervising snack time. Teachers may also assist with arrivals and other camp tasks. The position requires strong communication, curriculum planning, and teamwork skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Pre-Arrival:

Attend training, review camp materials, and familiarize with camp procedures and safety protocols. Complete required online child safety training.

Main Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging lessons in public speaking and debate, tailoring content to different skill levels. Collaborate with the camp coordinator to plan the program and structure the schedule. Facilitate debate sessions and public speaking activities, and offer feedback to students. Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and support evening activities. Ensure student safety and supervise campers during snack time.

General Staff Duties:

Follow camp guidelines, maintain professionalism, and wear the camp uniform. Complete online child safety training and uphold hygiene standards. Monitor camper behavior, resolve issues, and report to the Camp Coordinators. Participate in staff meetings and assist with other camp duties as needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Degree in Law, International Relations, or a related field. Strong background in public speaking, debate, or similar activities. Previous experience teaching children and delivering programs is preferred.

 

Contract & Wage:

  • Contract from 26th June to 2nd August 2025, including training. Weekly wage: €550, with additional pay for Arrivals Day tasks (€15/hour). Free room and board may be provided if the candidate combines teaching with other tasks.
