ROLE SUMMARY:

 

At Sotogrande International School (SIS), we are passionate about providing a holistic, values-driven, and international education. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Primary EAL Teacher to join our inclusive and forward-thinking team for the 2025–2026 academic year

As a Primary EAL Teacher, you will support students from diverse linguistic backgrounds in developing their English language proficiency, enabling them to access the curriculum fully and thrive both academically and socially. Working collaboratively with class teachers and specialists, you will design and deliver targeted EAL instruction that meets the varied needs of multilingual learners across the primary school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Design and implement engaging and differentiated EAL lessons for students across Primary Years

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan, co-teach, and provide in-class support

  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor language progress

  • Provide guidance on language acquisition strategies and inclusive practices

  • Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive school culture that celebrates linguistic and cultural diversity

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A relevant teaching qualification and degree

  • Experience teaching English as an Additional Language / English Language Development in a primary school setting

  • Knowledge of inquiry-based learning and international curricula (e.g., IB PYP) is a strong advantage

  • A passion for multilingual education and intercultural understanding

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
