KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach Psychology to IB DP Diploma level (grades 11 & 12) students, following international curriculum standards.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons on psychological theories, human behaviour, and mental processes that encourage inquiry and critical thinking.
- Create differentiated learning plans to cater to diverse learning styles and student needs.
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to ensure academic growth.
- Utilise technology and innovative teaching practices to make complex psychological concepts accessible and engaging for students.
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programs, including workshops or clubs related to psychology, mental well-being, or social sciences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive, interdisciplinary learning environment that reflects the IB philosophy.
- Mentor and guide students in both academic and personal development, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
- Ensure teaching aligns with school values and the IB framework, promoting inquiry-based learning and student-centred approaches.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A university degree in Psychology or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB school, with a focus on IB DP.
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent psychology, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a way that resonates with younger students.
- Experience with inquiry-based learning and familiarity with international education standards, particularly the IB DP.
- Proven ability to create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and student engagement.
- Technological proficiency in using digital tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Excellent communication skills, fluency in English (basic knowledge of French is an advantage).
- A collaborative, flexible mindset, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues in an interdisciplinary setting.
