Multi-skilled Maintenance Worker

ROLE SUMMARY:

St. John’s International School in Waterloo is looking for a full-time Multi-Skilled Maintenance Worker to join our Facilities team immediately.

The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Worker assists the Facility Coordinator with the day-to-day management of the school’s facilities and services, helping to maintain a safe, functional and pleasant environment for students and staff.

L'ouvrier(ère) polyvalent(e) assiste le Facility Coordinator dans la gestion quotidienne des installations et des services de l'école, contribuant ainsi à maintenir un environnement sûr, fonctionnel et agréable pour les élèves et le staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role includes a variety of practical and maintenance tasks across the school campus, including:

• General repairs and maintenance of buildings and facilities
• Basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry work
• Assembly, installation and repair of equipment and furniture
• Outdoor maintenance and upkeep of the school grounds
• Assist with setting up classrooms and common areas as needed
• Responding to maintenance requests and ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment
• Assist with internal moves and the installation of new equipment
• Preparation and setup of school events (meetings, exams, ceremonies, sporting activities)

Vos principales responsabilités :

• Effectuer les travaux courants de maintenance et de réparation des bâtiments et installations
• Réaliser des travaux de base en plomberie, électricité et menuiserie
• Monter, installer et réparer du mobilier et différents équipements
• Assurer l’entretien et la maintenance des espaces extérieurs
• Aider à l'aménagement des classes et espaces communs selon les besoins
• Intervenir rapidement en cas de demandes ou de problèmes techniques
• Veiller à maintenir un environnement propre, sûr et fonctionnel
• Participer aux déménagements internes et à l'installation de nouveaux équipements
• Préparer les événements scolaires (réunions, examens, cérémonies, activités sportives)

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Has solid practical and technical skills
• Is versatile, hands-on and able to work independently
• Has a good understanding of general building maintenance
• Is reliable, proactive and solution-oriented
• Has good organisational and teamwork skills
• Has previous experience in a similar role
• Has a good command of English and/or French
