We are seeking to appoint a part-time English Language Acquisition Teacher (0.5) who will teach students from Middle School through to the IB Diploma Programme to cover a colleague who is partially on sick leave. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching duties
- Prepare carefully a variety of creative assignments by means of which the students may actively learn.
- Use a variety of methods in presenting subject matter.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Develop, enhance and document existing curriculum, while ensuring continued coordination and alignment.
- Integrate technology into learning engagements.
- Use a variety of assessment techniques in keeping with the assessment policy
Leadership, procedural and administrative duties
- Give reports to Principal
- Collect, Analyze, and Share Annual Data with Department and Principal
- Co-operate, coordinate, and communicate with English Teachers in other divisions
- As needed, serve as a student advisor, provide scheduled supervision of students, participate in trips and field experiences, and engage in on-going professional development
- Effectively and proactively communicate all perceived issues to students and parents.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A bachelor/master degree in English language, with a recognized teaching qualification.
- 5 years of teaching experience, preferably within an international or IB school, with experience teaching Middle School
- A good knowledge of the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum, with experience in delivering high-level topics
- Proven experience in creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment
- Proficiency in technology integration to enhance english instruction and support student learning.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English (basic French is an advantage).
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues to improve teaching practices and curriculum development.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
- A passion for continuous professional development and the ability to inspire a love for english in students.
- A solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
