Reddam House Berkshire is a flagship UK school of the successful Reddam House International group. Set in 125 acres of wood and parkland, housed in a magnificent mansion building.

We have 800+ students between the ages of 3 months and 18 years are registered here (day students and boarders from age 11+). Children are recognised as individuals with unique skills to celebrate and given tailored support and guidance at each stage of their school career. Our structure of Early Learning School, Junior School, Middle School and Senior School means that every year group works with professionals who specialize and enjoy working with the students in their care.
The unique Reddam House philosophy and our formula for success are based to a large degree on the quality and depth of our curricula, cultural and sporting activities and especially our teaching staff, fully recognising that what goes on in the classroom between teacher and student strongly influences the success of the school.
We currently have a job share opportunity for a part time Receptionist - working days 2.5 days - Wed(pm), Thurs & Fri - 23 hours. Term time plus up to 8 weeks in the school holidays (reduced hours 9am-2pm Mon to Fri).
The succesful candidate will be the initial point of contact for incoming phone calls, visitors, students, staff and parents, and should be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the School in a professional and friendly manner. This is an essential role contributing to the smooth running of the School.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reception
- To act as the first point of contact for the School: welcoming visitors and responding to telephone and email enquiries in a helpful and constructive manner and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner;
- Registering and signing in all visitors/contractors, following safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety and security of our students;
- Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of school life, receiving and passing on information between parents and teachers accurately and promptly;
- Receive parcels and deliveries; manage both incoming and outgoing post and arrange special deliveries when necessary;
- Ensure the Reception Area and Billiard Room is kept smart and tidy and all relevant marketing materials are kept up to date.
General administrative support
- Support the School Administrator with tasks as required, such as student attendance;
- Assist with admissions related tasks as required, including preparations for and assistance at Open Mornings and other related school events;
- Maintain the internal telephone list and distribute accordingly;
- Using Microsoft packages and the Management Information System to help support with various administrative tasks and duties.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with staff, students, parents and visitors
- Excellent organisational and IT skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - training will be provided for school specific systems
- Calm and efficent manner and ability to work under pressure and to deadline
- Knowledge and previous experience of working in the education sector would be desirable but not essential
