The Role:
We are seeking a Teacher of Physical and Health Education, who will join our team and be responsible for teaching PHE Classes throughout the school. There may be an additional responsibility to teach ‘Sports, Exercise and Health Sciences’ in the Diploma Programme. This DP course incorporates the disciplines of anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, psychology and nutrition, which are studied in the context of sport, exercise and health.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
- Be prepared to teach PHE throughout the school to students of all ages.
- Have teaching experience as a Sports and PHE teacher
- Experience of teaching the IB DP Sports, exercise and Health Sciences is a distinct advantage, and candidates with experience will be given priority
- Be willing to organise sports tournaments and take part in sports fixtures
- Be committed to high standards, interested in using a constructivist approach to learning, and be enthusiastic about promoting international understanding.
- Be willing to play an active part and collaborate with the other members of staff in the overall curriculum development
- Be expected to show a high level of initiative, flexibility, creativity and organisational skills, as well as a commitment to co-curricula initiatives.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• Qualified Teacher Status
• English Mother Tongue
• Bachelor degree or above
• Preferably hold EU passport of have already obtained the right to be employed in Italy.
• Good grounding in Biology and Health sciences
