ROLE SUMMARY:
The British International School, founded in 1981, is a private co-educational school providing an excellent, high quality bilingual curriculum in Pre-School, Primary and Secondary, as well as an optimal learning environment. As part of our teaching team, we are looking an outstanding and dynamic Class teacher to be in post ready for 1ST August 2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver high-quality, play-based Early Years education for children aged 2–5.
- Plan and implement engaging learning experiences that support holistic development (cognitive, social, emotional, and physical).
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and wellbeing.
- Observe, assess, and track children’s progress, using evidence to inform planning and next steps.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s development and learning progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality Early Years provision.
- Support early language, communication, numeracy, and social development through structured and play-based activities.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Implement safeguarding, behaviour, and pastoral care policies consistently.
- Reflect on practice and engage in continuous professional development to improve outcomes for learners.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Recognised Early Years teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children aged 2–5 in an Early Years or nursery setting.
- Understanding of child development and early years pedagogy, including knowledge of EYFS, Reggio Emilia, or equivalent frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong classroom management, organisation, and planning skills with a focus on high-quality learning outcomes.
- A passionate, child-centred approach with the ability to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
- A reflective and adaptable mindset, committed to continuous improvement and professional growth.
