ROLE SUMMARY:

 

The British College of Gavà is a vibrant, forward-thinking international school offering the English National Curriculum in a warm, inclusive, and innovative environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Upper Primary Teacher to teach Years 5 and 6, supporting students as they develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to transition successfully into secondary education.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across all upper primary subjects, following the English National Curriculum.

  • Track and assess student progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and resilience.

  • Support the pastoral development of students, building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, cross-curricular projects, and school-wide initiatives.

  • Participate in school events, trips, and extracurricular activities.

  • Maintain high professional standards in safeguarding, communication, and classroom management.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A degree in Primary Education or equivalent, and PGCE/QTS (or an internationally recognised teaching qualification).

  • Strong experience teaching upper primary (Years 5–6) within the English National Curriculum.

  • A passion for delivering creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons.

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

  • A collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach to teaching and school life.

  • Experience in international school settings is desirable but not essential.
