ROLE SUMMARY:
The British College of Gavà is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Secondary English Teacher to join our growing international school from January 2027, providing paternity leave cover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver engaging, challenging and inquiry-based English lessons.
- Inspire students through a rich and engaging English Literature curriculum.
- Plan and differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
- Assess, monitor and provide effective feedback on student progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment and cross-curricular initiatives.
- Contribute to pastoral care, extracurricular activities and wider school life.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
- Engage in professional development and uphold the school’s values and safeguarding policies.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A university degree in English or a related subject and a recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English at secondary level.
- Excellent knowledge of English Language and Literature.
- A genuine passion for English and the ability to inspire students.
- Strong classroom management, organisation and communication skills.
- The ability to differentiate effectively and set high expectations for students.
- Confidence using ICT to support teaching and learning.
- A collaborative, flexible and positive approach.
- A strong commitment to student wellbeing and continuous improvement.
- IBDP and/or GCSE teaching experience is desirable.
- Appropriate right to work in Spain
