ROLE SUMMARY:
The British College of Gavà, an Inspired school, is seeking to appoint an IT Intern to join us on 25/08/2025 on a fixed term and full time basis
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated IT Intern to join our Information Technology department. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the technical aspects of IT support, maintenance, and troubleshooting within a school environment. As an IT Intern, you will work alongside our team of professionals to support the school's technological infrastructure, assist with computer hardware and software issues, and help ensure a smooth and effective tech environment for students and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software issues for students, faculty, and staff.
● Help set up and configure computers, printers, and other tech devices.
● Provide basic technical support and training for students and staff on software usage.
● Assist with the maintenance and updates of school technology systems, networks, and devices.
● Help monitor and ensure the security of school IT infrastructure.
● Assist in the setup of multimedia equipment for classrooms or events.
● Support teaching staff with the set up and use of the Virtual Reality classroom
● Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
● Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day activities
● Support the installation and configuration of educational software and applications.
● Help with inventory management of technology equipment and supplies.
● Take on other duties such as patio duties, trips, invigilations and registration
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
● Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
● Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networks.
● Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems.
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
● Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new technologies.
