ROLE SUMMARY:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, purpose-built international school in Barcelona. We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-organised IB ESS Teacher to inspire learners in the upper secondary years.
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with the drive, energy, and dedication to contribute to a forward-thinking educational environment, lead by example, and take an active role in the school’s pastoral life. The ability to teach an additional subject within the IB is highly desirable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver engaging, inquiry-based IB ESS lessons aligned with the school philosophy and assessment criteria.

Plan and implement differentiated strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with IB requirements, including guidance on internal assessments.

Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student well-being and independent inquiry.

Integrate technology effectively to enhance research, conceptual understanding, and classroom engagement.

Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and assessment design.

Participate in school events, extracurricular programmes, and community engagement initiatives.

Maintain professional communication with students, families, and staff.

Engage in continuous professional development and reflective teaching practice.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Strong subject knowledge in IB Environmental Systems & Societies and understanding of IB DP expectations.

Proven ability to deliver high-quality, inquiry-based learning and assess student progress effectively.

Excellent classroom practice with strong organisational and communication skills.

Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners.

A relevant university degree and appropriate right to work in Spain.

Ability to teach an additional subject within the IB (e.g., Biology, Geography, Sciences, or Individuals & Societies) is an advantage.
