ROLE SUMMARY:

The British College of Gava, in Barcelona, are seeking an enthusiastic, well-organised English Teacher (English Language and Literature) who can inspire students across Secondary and A Level programmes. As a growing school, we are looking for excellent teachers with the potential to take on future leadership roles. The successful candidate will be a committed team player with the energy, passion, and professionalism to contribute to our forward-thinking learning environment, lead by example, and support the wider pastoral life of the school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver engaging and academically rigorous English Language & Literature lessons aligned with the school curriculum and international standards.
Plan and implement differentiated learning strategies to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
Assess, record, and report on student progress with accuracy and timeliness.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that supports student well-being and intellectual curiosity.
Integrate technology effectively to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment design, and cross-curricular initiatives.
Participate actively in school events, extracurricular activities, parent communication, and community initiatives.
Engage in continuous professional development and uphold the school’s values, safeguarding policies, and code of conduct.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
Experience teaching GCSE, A Level, IB, or other international curricula.
Proven ability to set high expectations, plan effectively, and evaluate learning impact.
Excellent classroom practice and the ability to inspire and challenge students.
Strong organisational skills and a positive, adaptable approach to change.
Commitment to high standards of student welfare and pastoral care.
