ROLE SUMMARY:

The British College of Gavà, part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Economics Teacher to join our Secondary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a purpose-built, expanding IB World School located just south of Barcelona.

The successful candidate will teach Economics across GCSE and IB programmes, delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons and supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes. We are looking for a passionate and committed educator who thrives in a collaborative, international environment and is eager to contribute to the wider life of the school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based Economics lessons aligned with GCSE and IB curricula.
Develop differentiated teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress accurately and effectively.
Prepare students for external examinations, including GCSE and IB assessments.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student wellbeing.
Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and cross-curricular initiatives.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Degree in Economics, Business, or a related subject.
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) or equivalent.
Proven experience teaching Economics at Secondary level, including GCSE and/or IB.
Strong subject knowledge, particularly in IB Economics (highly desirable).
Experience with GCSE curriculum; Business Studies knowledge is an advantage.
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Confidence in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning
