ROLE SUMMARY:

 

The British College of Gavà is seeking to appoint a Cover Teacher to join us in August/September 2025 on a permanent term and part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our new purpose built, expanding school with exceptional
facilities.

The British College of Gava is situated in beautiful grounds and close to the beach just south of Barcelona city. BCG is an IB World School.

Around 600 students between the ages of 3 and 18 years are registered here. We firmly believe in a holistic, balanced and broad education for sustainable development which is further enhanced by our privileged learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

- Adhere to all school policies for staff: attendance, dress code and professional conduct in and out of class to support the BCG ethos, aims, mission and vision
- Provide pastoral support for students in line with school policies and procedures.
- Differentiate accordingly according to the students’ needs.
- Maintain a working knowledge of National Curriculum & other documents.
- To be aware of the physical and emotional well-being of pupils and the need to respond to particular situations.
- Understand and implement all welfare and safeguarding policies.
- Liaise with other staff as required e.g. school nurse, educational psychologist.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils at school.

- The ability to work as part of an education group
- Understanding of high quality teaching
- Ability to build effective working relationships
- Recent evidence of relevant CPD
- Ability to organise, plan and prioritise effectively; managing responsibilities as a classroom
