ROLE SUMMARY:

La Miranda School, in Barcelona, is looking for a Biology & Geology Teacher to join our Secondary School team from late August 2026. The sucessful candidate will teach a combination of Spanish Bachillerato and IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) classes, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in both Spanish and English.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver high-quality Biology and Geology lessons across the Spanish Bachillerato and IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), fostering student engagement and academic achievement.
Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with the Spanish National Curriculum and IB MYP framework, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Create a positive, inclusive and inquiry-based classroom environment that supports students' academic and personal development.
Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate assessment and reporting records.
Collaborate with colleagues, pastoral teams and school leadership to support curriculum development, interdisciplinary learning and whole-school initiatives.
Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues, contributing positively to the wider life of the school.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Degree in Biology or a closely related scientific discipline.
Spanish teaching qualification (Máster de Profesorado or CAP).
Experience teaching Secondary Science/Biology.
Ability to teach confidently in both:
- Spanish (Biology & Biology/Geology – Spanish Bachillerato)
- English (IB MYP Biology/Geology and Scientific Culture)
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development.
