The British School of Bahrain is committed to providing a high-quality, international education for students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are a selective, coeducational, independent Nursery-through-Year 13 school. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with some adaptations to the local context and offers IGCSE and A-Level/BTEC examinations. While the language of academic instruction is English, we are a truly international school, and our pupils and staff come from over 82 different nationalities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Deliver the UK EYFS curriculum, ensuring that teaching meets the academic, social, and developmental needs of all children.

  • Plan, prepare, record, assess, and report on learning in line with school requirements.

  • Ensure all subjects taught provide appropriate coverage, progression, and continuity.

  • Facilitate and maximise the academic progress and pastoral welfare of all assigned students.

  • Fulfil teaching, pastoral, and administrative responsibilities as required.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A child-centred approach, placing the individual child at the heart of their practice.

  • Experience in delivering the UK EYFS curriculum.

  • A relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, or equivalent).

  • A passion for achieving high levels of learning and a willingness to work as part of a team.

  • A positive, enthusiastic, and collegiate approach to teaching.

  • Confidence in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning.

  • High expectations and aspirations for all students.

  • A demonstrable commitment to the overall development and welfare of young people.

  • A commitment to safeguarding, including holding an Enhanced DBS / ACRO Police Check or equivalent.
