ACG Strathallan Preschool is seeking a passionate and motivated ECE Teacher in Training to join our team in a permanent, full-time position commencing April 2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging, play‑based learning experiences aligned with Te Whāriki.
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
- Assist with observations, documentation, and learning stories to track children’s progress.
- Apply learning from your ECE studies into daily practice while working toward your qualification.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through responsive interactions.
- Uphold centre policies, health and safety procedures, and child protection requirements.
- Participate in team planning, reflective practice, and professional development activities.
- Help maintain well‑organised, high‑quality learning spaces and resources
- Communicate positively and professionally with whānau and colleagues to support strong partnerships.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and supporting young children’s learning and development.
- Current enrolment in a recognised New Zealand ECE qualification and a commitment to ongoing study.
- Warm, respectful interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children and whānau.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn from experienced teachers.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative teaching environment.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with colleagues and documenting learning.
- An understanding of Te Whāriki and a desire to grow capability in play‑based, child‑led learning.
- Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to follow centre policies, health and safety requirements, and daily routines.
