ROLE SUMMARY:

ACG Sunderland is a leading independent co-educational school with excellent facilities and a reputation for outstanding educational outcomes.  We are seeking an experienced, proactive guidance counsellor to support our Sunderland students. The key tasks of the role are to provide a high standard of support for students, to promote emotional and mental wellbeing, self-confidence and resilience. Located in Henderson, Auckland, ACG Sunderland is a leading, independent, coeducational school. The candidate must be a member of the NZAC but teacher registration is not a requirement of this role. Position commences by negotiation. Flexible working hours and opportunity for online consultations available. Role due to commence in term 1 2025.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Student guidance, support and education
  • Counselling and advice for students
  • Education for staff (general information to support students, how to motivate learners etc)
  • Grief support to students

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • have an appropriate professional qualification and hold a relevant, professional membership/registration.
  • have relevant experience in working with children and/or young people.
  • be committed to working collaboratively with whānau, staff and external partners to provide counselling/social work and wellbeing services for our school community.
