ROLE SUMMARY:
ACG Strathallan is a Cambridge International school, with our senior school offering both IGCSE and A‑Level pathways. Located in Karaka, South Auckland, we are a leading independent co‑educational school, providing education from Preschool to Year 13. Our teachers enjoy a highly resourced, modern, and supportive teaching environment.
You will be tasked with inspiring academic excellence, fostering intellectual curiosity, and supporting the personal development of students. By creating delivering lesson plans, assessing student progress, and contributing to the broader school community, the teacher ensures that each student is empowered to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.
We are seeking a Mathematics Teacher to join our secondary faculty in a full‑time parental leave position commencing June 2026 until December 2026. While experience teaching international qualifications is an advantage, it is not essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach secondary year levels, ensuring you create an engaging learning environment.
- Cater to the varied learning needs and abilities within your classes to maximise student development.
- Develop excellent working relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Ensure the effective use of technology in teaching and learning activities.
- Monitor and support students’ emotional and social well-being, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Participate in staff meetings, House meetings, assemblies, and professional development days, contributing to the broader school community.
- Participate in wider school activities.
- Ensure students' welfare and safety in every moment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Have NZ Teacher registration with supporting teaching and tertiary qualifications.
- Have experience in teaching mathematics curriculum to a high standard.
- Be well-prepared and inspire confidence in students and parents.
- Be flexible, committed, professional, hard-working, and a team player.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with the ability to monitor and report on student progress accurately.
