ROLE SUMMARY:

ACG Parnell College, part of ACG Schools, is an independent, co-educational school (Y0–Y13) located in Parnell Auckland. We prepare our students for a lifetime of learning, equipping them with the academic, sporting and cultural skills they need to become balanced and independent global citizens.

We are after a savvy Science Technician who will be responsible for the maintenance of resources and practical equipment in the Science Faculty. We are looking for someone that can bring fun and life to the classroom and encourage students scientific mind. This is a permanent, part-time (30 hours per week), term time only position which will commence in June 2025.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To source chemicals and equipment as required
Be knowledgeable about and familiar with the use of banned substances in schools and advise Science staff on appropriate use
To prepare resources for practical lessons
To maintain an inventory of all chemicals and equipment purchased
To store laboratory chemicals and equipment safely, in accordance with Health and Safety regulations
To ensure safety signs are appropriately displayed
To ensure safety mechanisms within the laboratory are effective
To maintain a clean, tidy, well organised laboratory and prep room environment
To maintain and repair equipment

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Previous experience in a similar role
Well organised with ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple tasks
