ROLE SUMMARY:
ACG Parnell College is seeking an inspiring and enthusiastic person for our school Librarian position. We are looking for someone who is passionate about books and reading and supporting students to share this love of reading. The successful applicant will have strong inter-personal, communication and organisational skills as well as current knowledge of technology and understanding of digital literacy.Thisisapermanent,full-time position due to commence term 1 2026.
The role involves the management and organisation of our Library and resources and assisting students and teachers with their information needs. The ideal candidate must enjoy working with young people and have the ability to identify opportunities for service improvement. Enthusiasm, innovation and confidence will ensure your success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To set up and maintain the ACG Parnell School Library.
- To complete all administrative task with high efficiency and accuracy.
- To be a positive and supportive advocate for the effective use of the Library.
- To set high standards and assist students and teaching staff as required.
- To create opportunities to develop and sustain a love of reading within our community.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A love of reading and books and inspiring this in others
- An ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong computer skills, including Office365
- High levels of cultural awareness and responsiveness
- Highly effective communication, self-management and organisational skills
- Flexibility and willingness to help get involved with anything within the small team is critical
- Previous experience in the library and / or education sector is preferred but not essential
