ROLE SUMMARY:

The Modern Montessori School is a CIS-accredited IB Continuum World School. We combine the proven Montessori methodology in Kindergarten with the internationally respected IB Programme, offering a seamless and world-class educational journey.

We are excited to be taking applications for a Science Lab Technician to join us in October 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver lessons that inspire and challenge all students and are in line with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements. You will individualise and differentiate learning, ensuring each student is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
  • Supporting and Assessing Progress: Regularly assess students' in-class and at-home learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress and ensure all students are challenged and supported in reaching their potential.
  • Building a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a classroom and school environment where students are invested in each other's flourishing, feel valued and supported, and are ready to take risks in their learning.
  • Collaborating and Sharing Best Practices: Work closely with colleagues as an active member of our learning community, sharing best practices, collaborating with colleagues, and dedicating yourself to your own professional development to ensure the highest standard of education for our students.
  • Contributing to School Life: Play an active role in the school's co-curricular programme, helping to create a well-rounded, enriching educational experience. From leading clubs to contributing to whole school initiatives, you will help shape the broader life of the school.
  • Collaborating with Parents: Maintain open and constructive communication with parents, building strong partnerships that support students' progress so that each child feels like an individual, well-known and respected.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A university degree in Science, Laboratory Sciences, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a science laboratory, preferably within a school or educational environment.
  • Possess a very good command of the English language.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, materials, and safety standards.
  • Experience in preparing laboratory equipment, materials, and experiments for science lessons and practical activities.
  • Ability to safely handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and laboratory materials in accordance with health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to maintain laboratory equipment and ensure that laboratories are clean, organised, safe, and ready for use.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage laboratory supplies, maintain accurate inventories and records, and ensure appropriate stock levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with Science teachers, students, and other members of staff.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to maintain laboratory records and documentation accurately.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of students.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, flexible, and resourceful approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
