ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King's College, The British School of Alicante, one of the most sought after British Schools in Spain, is seeking to appoint an inspiring, committed and passionate professional to teach English and some Humanities from August 2024.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • To deliver high quality teaching and learning in line with the UK National Curriculum and local requirements.
  • To plan, feedback and teach in line with school and departmental procedures.
  • To plan, prepare and deliver schemes of work in accordance with school policies.
  • To maintain a working knowledge of National Curriculum & other documents.
  • To maintain records of pupils’ progress including all statutory documents required by the UK DFE.
  • To produce reports and grades for pupils as per the school calendar.
  • To conduct termly interviews with parents to discuss and explain their child’s performance and progress in school.
  • To provide and maintain an attractive and stimulating environment in which to foster effective teaching and learning.
  • To monitor progress and the effectiveness of class work and to evaluate and modify planning and teaching as necessary.
  • To differentiate accordingly according to the students’ needs

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Be an inspiring, creative and passionate teacher whose practice is rooted in Quality First Teaching and will share our belief in the importance of supporting and developing the whole child.
  • A belief in Inspired’s approach to education where academic performance, sporting opportunities and creative arts are given equal status throughout the child’s school experience.
  • Have experience of successfully teaching English Language & Literature to KS2 and KS3 (not TEFL/EAL)  and will be able to demonstrate the value they have added to the outcomes of pupils under their care; have experience or be keen to also teach public speaking and/or PSHE to our middle school pupils.
  • Be excited to also teach Geography and History to KS3 pupils as well as be willing to teach English to GCSE if required.
  • Be excited by the prospect of working for a school judged under the BSO framework to be “outstanding in all areas” and explain what they can bring to that environment.
  • Be committed to working collaboratively with pupils, parents and peers to achieve the best pupil outcomes possible.
  • Be able to adapt teaching methods to support and drive the progress of pupils whose first language may not be English.
