ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King’s College, The British School of Alicante, one of the most sought-after British schools in Spain, is seeking to appoint an inspiring, committed and passionate Middle School Teacher (STEM) from September 2025. This exciting position offers the opportunity to deliver Science, Computing and Maths to mixed-attainment groups in a supportive, innovative, and high-achieving school environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of a UK-qualified class teacher, the successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality STEM lessons in line with the English National Curriculum.

  • Inspire and challenge students across a wide range of attainment levels.

  • Use assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners for whom English is an additional language.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support school development and cross-curricular initiatives.

  • Contribute actively to the pastoral life of the school and help nurture the “whole child.”

  • Embrace the Inspired philosophy, giving equal value to academic, sporting, and artistic excellence.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent).

  • Successful experience teaching in KS2 and/or KS3.

  • Excellent subject knowledge in Science, Computing and Maths.

  • A strong grasp of the English National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.

  • Passion for teaching and the belief that every student can succeed.

  • Ability to differentiate effectively and support EAL learners.

  • A proactive, collaborative attitude and commitment to professional development.

  • Fluent spoken and written English.
