ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King’s College School Alicante is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Middle School Humanities Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3. The successful candidate will teach a broad Humanities curriculum, including History, Geography, and elements of global citizenship, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills in students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Teach Humanities across KS3, delivering engaging, well-structured and inclusive lessons.

  • Develop students’ historical, geographical and cultural understanding, alongside critical thinking and enquiry skills.

  • Track, assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and targeted support.

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including students for whom English is an additional language.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Humanities faculty.

  • Support students’ pastoral development and well-being.

  • Participate actively in enrichment activities, wider school life and ongoing professional learning.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Experience teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3 (History specialism advantageous).

  • A passion for inspiring younger learners and developing curiosity about the world.

  • Strong classroom practice with a focus on engagement, challenge and inclusion.

  • Fluency in English with excellent written and spoken communication skills.

  • A strong commitment to pastoral care and the holistic development of students.

  • A collaborative, positive mindset and willingness to contribute to extracurricular and whole-school initiatives.

  • Openness to integrating educational technologies, including AI and digital tools, to enhance learning.
