ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College School Alicante is seeking an engaging and dynamic English Teacher to join our middle school team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality English teaching to KS3 pupils, nurturing strong literacy skills, creativity and confidence in a supportive and high-achieving international school environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for KS3, ensuring strong progress for all learners.

Use effective assessment strategies to monitor pupil outcomes and guide next steps in learning.

Apply approaches informed by Pie Corbett’s Talk for Writing framework when appropriate.

Adapt teaching for students with diverse learning needs, including those for whom English is an additional language.

Collaborate closely with colleagues, parents and pastoral teams to support the holistic development of every pupil.

Contribute to enrichment activities, extracurricular programmes and the wider life of the school.

Engage actively in professional development and reflective practice.

Embrace educational technologies, including AI, VR and digital learning tools, to enhance classroom practice.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Successful experience teaching English to middle school / KS3 pupils with evidence of strong impact.

A creative, student-centred approach grounded in Quality First Teaching.

A solid understanding of KS3 learning needs and familiarity with Talk for Writing.

Fluency in English with excellent spoken, written and technical communication skills.
