ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King’s College School Alicante is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled KS2 Teacher to join our outstanding primary team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum, fostering strong academic progress while supporting pupils’ social, emotional and personal development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan, deliver and assess effective lessons in line with the English National Curriculum for KS2.

  • Support and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners, including EAL pupils.

  • Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages independence, confidence and curiosity.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to year-group planning and whole-school initiatives.

  • Promote strong safeguarding practices and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.

  • Participate in enrichment activities and broader school life.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Successful experience teaching in KS2 with evidence of strong impact on pupil outcomes.

  • A child-centred, creative approach rooted in Quality First Teaching.

  • Strong knowledge of KS2 curriculum planning, delivery and assessment.

  • Experience with Pie Corbett’s Talk 4 Writing (desirable but not essential).

  • Fluency in English with excellent spoken, written and technical communication skills.

  • The ability to adapt teaching to support pupils whose first language is not English.

  • A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to team and school life.

  • A commitment to pastoral care and to supporting the holistic development of every child.

  • A reflective mindset with enthusiasm for ongoing professional learning.

  • High professional standards and dedication to safeguarding.

  • Excitement about contributing to a school rated “outstanding in all areas” under the BSO framework.
