ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King's College School Alicante is seeking an enthusiastic and creative KS1 Teacher to join our outstanding primary team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences rooted in the English National Curriculum, with a strong commitment to supporting the holistic development of every child. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum for KS1.

  • Support and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with English as an additional language.

  • Create a nurturing, engaging classroom environment that supports academic, social and emotional development.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to year-group and whole-school initiatives.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

  • Promote and uphold strong safeguarding practices in line with school policies.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral care and enrichment activities.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Successful experience teaching KS1 and evidence of strong impact on pupil outcomes.

  • A creative, child-centred approach rooted in Quality First Teaching.

  • Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum for KS1.

  • Experience with Pie Corbett’s Talk 4 Writing (desirable but not essential).

  • Fluency in English with excellent spoken, written and technical language skills.

  • A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to team and school life.

  • Commitment to pastoral care and to developing the whole child.

  • A reflective mindset and enthusiasm for professional growth.

  • High professional standards and adherence to robust safeguarding practices.

  • Excitement about joining a school rated “outstanding in all areas” under the BSO framework.
