ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King’s College School Alicante is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable History Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching at KS3, KS4 and A Level. The ability to teach Theory of Knowledge (TOK) within the IBDP is a strong advantage. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about developing students’ critical thinking, analytical skills and curiosity about the past within a high-achieving British international school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Teach History across KS3–A Level, ensuring engaging, rigorous and well-structured lessons.

  • Support the delivery of TOK within the IBDP (advantageous, but not essential).

  • Track and assess student progress, providing targeted support to ensure excellent outcomes.

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of students, including those for whom English is an additional language.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities faculty.

  • Participate in enrichment opportunities, wider school life and ongoing professional learning.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Successful experience teaching History at A Level with strong results.

  • A passion for developing students’ historical knowledge, critical thinking and academic independence.

  • Experience or interest in contributing to TOK within the IBDP (desirable).

  • Fluency in English with excellent written, spoken and academic communication skills.

  • A strong commitment to pastoral care and supporting the holistic development of every student.

  • A collaborative, positive attitude and willingness to contribute to extracurricular and whole-school initiatives.

  • Openness to integrating educational technologies, including AI and digital tools, to enhance learning.
