ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College School Alicante is seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable English & Literature Teacher to deliver exceptional teaching at A Level and/or within the IBDP. The role also includes teaching English to middle and senior school pupils as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach English Language and Literature to A Level and/or IBDP with high academic expectations.

Deliver effective English lessons to younger middle and senior school pupils as required.

Track, assess and support pupil progress, ensuring excellent outcomes.

Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners, including students with English as an additional language.

Contribute to curriculum development within the English department.

Participate in whole-school initiatives, enrichment programmes and extracurricular activities.

Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.

Integrate educational technologies—including AI, VR and digital tools—to enrich learning experiences.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Successful experience teaching English to A Level and/or IBDP with evidence of strong pupil progress.

A creative, student-centred approach rooted in Quality First Teaching.

Fluency in English with highly articulate written, spoken and academic communication skills.

Confidence teaching a range of age groups across the middle and senior school.

A collaborative, positive and proactive attitude, contributing fully to the life of the department and school.

Ability to adapt teaching to support learners whose first language may not be English.
