ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College, The British School of Alicante, one of the most sought-after British schools in Spain, is seeking to appoint an inspiring, committed and passionate EYFS Teacher from August 2025. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a school rated “Excellent in Every Category” by PENTA in 2023, and contribute meaningfully to our outstanding Early Years provision.

We are looking for a skilled educator who is passionate about child development, thrives on teaching mixed attainment groups, and believes there is no ceiling to each individual child’s potential. The successful candidate will be an exceptional practitioner who contributes positively to the wider life of our vibrant College community

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of a UK-qualified class teacher, the successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the EYFS Development Matters framework.

  • Assess learning outcomes against the EYFS objectives to support and track children’s progress.

  • Inspire children through creative and engaging teaching rooted in Quality First Teaching.

  • Maintain a stimulating and enabling learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Use classroom support effectively to enhance learning opportunities and progress.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of children for whom English may not be a first language.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across phases to support whole-child development and school priorities.

  • Embrace the Inspired philosophy that values academic, sporting, and artistic excellence equally.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential:

  • UK QTS and more than two years of EYFS teaching experience.

  • Deep understanding of the EYFS Framework and best practices in Early Years education.

  • Passion for teaching and nurturing the “whole child” in a caring, creative, and ambitious setting.

  • Ability to reflect, collaborate and take part in continuous professional development.

  • Strong command of spoken and written English.

  • A positive, proactive “can-do” attitude and a collaborative approach to school life.
