ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College Alicante (KCA), one of the most sought-after British schools in Spain, is seeking to appoint an inspiring and committed Assistant Head of Lower School to join our Lower School Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will participate in strategic leadership of EYFS department, modelling outstanding practice in our newly refurbished Early Years environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the EYFS (Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception).

Lead and support early years staff, ensuring high-quality practice aligned with the British EYFS framework.

Monitor pupil progress, lead moderation and use assessment data to inform improvement.

Create and sustain a nurturing, enabling learning environment indoors and outdoors.

Build strong relationships with parents and contribute to whole-school initiatives and events.

Play an active role in the Lower School Senior Leadership Team.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant Bachelor’s degree.

Strong knowledge and experience of the British EYFS framework.

Proven experience teaching in Early Years, with leadership or management responsibility.

Evidence of excellent classroom practice and ongoing professional development.

Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

A child-centred, reflective and collaborative leadership approach.
