ROLE SUMMARY:

Founded in 1989, Blue Valley is a private, bilingual, Pre-K through 12th-grade school with over 800 students that offers a challenging combination of Costa Rican and International curricula promoting technology, the arts, and physical wellbeing.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Accounts Payable Officer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process invoices accurately and efficiently. Match invoices with purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy of billing.

  2. Vendor Management: Maintain vendor accounts, including setting up new vendors, updating vendor information, and resolving any discrepancies or issues on time.

  3. Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers. Ensure payments are made on time and following company policies and procedures.

  4. Reconciliation: Reconciled vendor statements to ensure all invoices have been received and paid accurately. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding balances.

  5. Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation.

  6. Reporting: Generate reports on accounts payable activity, aging reports, and cash flow projections as needed. Provide insights and analysis to management on trends and potential areas for improvement.

  7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls related to accounts payable processes. Maintain documentation and records following audit requirements.

  8. Communication: Liaise with internal departments, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, answer inquiries, and provide assistance as needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Student or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
