ROLE SUMMARY:

Altair School is strategically located in La Molina, Lima, Peru, and its campus has an area of 15,000 square meters. It is a regular, bilingual and mixed education school. It has the IB Continuing Program accredited for its three programs: PYP (Primary Years Program), MYP (Middle Years Program) and Diploma.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our team. This role plays a key part in supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school, ensuring students receive an excellent educational experience in a caring and stimulating environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the classroom teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Assist with the supervision, care, and safety of students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Provide individual or small-group support to students who may need additional guidance.
  • Help manage classroom materials, resources, and learning spaces to ensure an organized and effective environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans, assessments, and differentiated activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere aligned with the school’s values.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing materials, recording observations, and updating student information when needed.
  • Support school events, assemblies, and activities as required.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with students, teachers, and families.
  • Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and Inspired Education policies at all times.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A qualification in Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field (or currently studying a related program).
  • Previous experience working with children or supporting teaching and learning in a school environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and supportive approach to working within a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A caring, patient, and student-centered mindset.
  • Ability to follow guidance from teachers while also working independently when needed.
  • Interest in international education and alignment with Inspired’s values.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (desirable).
  • Confidence using basic digital tools to support teaching and learning.
