ROLE SUMMARY:

Altair School is strategically located in La Molina, Lima, Peru, and its campus has an area of ​​15,000 square meters. It is a regular, bilingual and mixed education school. It has the IB Continuing Program accredited for its three programs: PYP (Primary Years Program), MYP (Middle Years Program) and Diploma.

The ideal candidate will also be proficient in the use of technological tools to enhance learning and possess an advanced level of English.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences, ensuring a stimulating and supportive classroom environment.
  • Demonstrate a proven record of excellent pedagogical practice and effective classroom management.
  • Contribute positively to the school community, fostering collaboration and enthusiasm among colleagues.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB Middle Years Programme framework.
  • Support the holistic development of students through a genuine passion for teaching and educating the whole child.
  • Participate actively in the school’s extra-curricular programme, inspiring students beyond the classroom.
  • Collaborate effectively across curriculum areas and key stages to develop integrated learning experiences.
  • Play an active role in shaping and enhancing the Humanities curriculum through innovative initiatives and teamwork.
  • Integrate digital technologies purposefully to enrich students’ learning experiences and engagement.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A relevant degree in Science (or related field) combined with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • At least two years of successful teaching experience, ideally within an international or bilingual school setting.
  • Experience teaching the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), and familiarity with the English National Curriculum and (I)GCSE and/or IB syllabuses.
  • A proven record of excellent classroom practice, with the ability to inspire, challenge, and support students of varying abilities.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to nurturing the academic and personal growth of each student.
  • A collaborative and enthusiastic approach to teamwork, contributing positively to the wider school community.
  • Flexibility to work across key stages and collaborate across curriculum areas.
  • A proactive and creative mindset, eager to help develop new initiatives that strengthen the Science curriculum.
  • Willingness to participate in and contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities programme.
  • A positive, open-minded attitude and a desire to continue growing professionally within a dynamic international environment.
