We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Secondary English Teacher to join our dynamic and international teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver a strong English curriculum, develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, and support their academic and personal growth.
This role requires strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom practice, and consistent collaboration with colleagues across the department and the wider school.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach English at Secondary level, delivering engaging and academically rigorous lessons.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with curriculum standards and departmental expectations.
- Assess and track student progress, using data to inform planning and improve learning outcomes.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and creative classroom environment that encourages a love for literature and language.
- Introduce students to a diverse range of texts and perspectives, promoting critical thinking and effective communication.
- Use technology to support teaching, learning, and student engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum planning, share best practices, and promote academic consistency.
- Support pastoral responsibilities and contribute to school life through extracurricular activities, events, and wider community engagement.
- Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and staff.
- Participate in professional development and stay updated with best practice in English education.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, Education, or a related field, plus a recognised teaching qualification.
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience at Secondary level.
- Experience with international curricula such as IGCSE or IB is an advantage.
- Strong pedagogical practice and excellent classroom management.
- Ability to build engaging learning experiences that develop language proficiency and analytical skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Passion for teaching and supporting students’ holistic development.
- Native English proficiency is required.
