ROLE SUMMARY:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Head of Secondary to develop and implement academic policies, programs, and initiatives that align with the school's mission and vision.
- Provide instructional leadership by supporting teachers in implementing effective teaching strategies, assessment practices, and curriculum development.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and induction of teaching staff, ensuring they meet the school's academic standards and expectations.
- Lead and participate in professional development activities for teaching staff, including workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning outcomes through data analysis, classroom observations, and student assessments, providing feedback and support to teachers as needed.
- Collaborate with other members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to maintain a positive school culture that values academic excellence, student well-being, and community engagement.
- Act as a liaison between the secondary school department and other school stakeholders, including students, parents, and external partners, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Assist in the development and management of the departmental budget, resources, and facilities to support teaching and learning activities.
- Lead or support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Head of Secondary or SLT.
- Coordinate IGCSE certificates.
- Lead the uploading of external components into IGCSE & IBDP platforms.
- Lead IBDP & IGCSE student selection processes, supporting students and families in designing their academic pathway.
- Collaborate with the Deputy Head of Secondary Pastoral Lead to support students, tracking their academic progress from a holistic perspective.
- Collaborate with the Head of Secondary in leading meetings with families regarding the academic pathway at King's.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Significant experience in secondary education, including teaching and leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven leadership ability with experience in leading teams and managing projects.
- Prior experience in middle management leadership roles.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of educational trends, research, and best practices.
- Familiarity with relevant educational technologies and tools
