ROLE SUMMARY:
The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all accounting records in compliance with both local regulations and the corporate financial standards of Inspired Education Group. This role plays a key part in the preparation of local and group financial statements, responding to external audits, and managing tax compliance. The position also provides analytical support to the Finance team to strengthen financial reporting and control processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the proper use of accounting accounts and consistency of financial records.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and consolidate month-end closing information.
- Prepare and validate both corporate (September–August) and local (January–December) financial reporting packages.
- Manage the fixed assets module, ensuring proper control, registration, and depreciation processes.
- Apply IFRS 16 (Leases) correctly and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Record and analyse deferred income and expenses.
- Perform intercompany expense analysis and reconciliations.
- Analyse and monitor doubtful accounts.
- Review and approve monthly tax obligations (VAT, Income Tax, Withholdings, etc.).
- Prepare and review tax filings and respond to requirements from tax authorities.
- Prepare the Annual Income Tax Return and coordinate with external auditors.
- Track and report on legal cases with financial implications (claims, contingencies, indemnities).
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and be a certified Public Accountant.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in accounting roles.
- Previous experience in multinational or corporate environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS / NIIF and Peruvian tax regulations.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems.
- Basic English (reading and comprehension).
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to exercise sound professional judgment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
