Teacher of Primary-Maternity Leave

ROLE SUMMARY:

At the forefront of British education internationally, King’s College School La Moraleja is seeking to appoint an inspiring, collaborative and forward-thinking professional to the position of Teacher of Primary for a Maternity Cover, for pupils in our primary school which runs from Pre-Nursery to Year 6.

Situated in Madrid’s most exclusive and sought-after neighbourhood, King’s La Moraleja is a private British school that combines academic rigour with a strong sense of community to deliver a transformative learning experience to its pupils from Pre-Nursery up to Year 11.

Further, In September 2020 the school opened a newly refurbished second site a stone’s throw from our existing, purpose built, campus. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To deliver high quality teaching and learning in line with the UK National Curriculum and local requirements.
• To plan, feedback and teach in line with school and departmental procedures.
• To plan, prepare and deliver schemes of work in accordance with school policies.
• To maintain a working knowledge of National Curriculum & other documents.
• To maintain records of pupils’ progress including all statutory documents required by the UK DFE.
• To produce reports and grades for pupils as per the school calendar.
• To conduct termly interviews with parents to discuss and explain their child’s performance and progress in school.
• To provide and maintain an attractive and stimulating environment in which to foster effective teaching and learning

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

•  Bachelor Degree (essential)
•  Qualified Teacher Status (essential)
•  The ability to work as part of an education group
•  Understanding of high quality teaching
•  Ability to build effective working relationships
•  Recent evidence of relevant CPD
•  Understanding of the use of assessment to inform planning and improve student performance
